The Ferry Windermere
Mid-20th Century
Looking slightly north of east from behind a bush at Ferry House, Far Sawrey towards The Glebe and Bowness, with extensive tree cover on the slopes on that side of the lake among which various houses may be seen. The chain ferry 'Drake' with a full complement of cars approaches the western shore, its funnel almost out of proportion to the size of the vessel.
