Burnthwaite and Great Gable.
1950s
Looking north-east towards Burnthwaite Farm. To the left a group of farm buildings surrounded by trees stand at the foot of the steep lower slopes of Kirk Fell. In the foreground, dry stone walls divide the valley floor into small fields. Right of Kirk Fell is a prominent valley (Gable Beck) and dominating the scene to the right is Great Gable mountain.
