Looking north-west on a sunny afternoon along a stepped terrace below a promenade with benches in front of a green space, lined with fir trees, whose line is broken by an ornamental shelter and another building. A number of visitors sit on the terraced steps, watching the waves breaking with white crests. To the right, concrete and wood have been used to construct a substantial sea defence while, to the left, in the distance, houses line the seafront.
