New Promenade, Silloth
Mid-20th century
Looking north-west along a stepped terrace below a promenade with benches in front of a green space, lined with fir trees, whose line is broken by an ornamental shelter and another building. A number of visitors walk along the terraced steps, stony beach and promenade, some in hats and coats, others in short sleeves. Two prams are evident on the promenade. Wooden groynes section the beach while in the distance, houses line the seafront. The image is titled 'New Promenade Silloth at Low Tide' for postcard printing purposes.
