Promenade Houses, Queen's gate, Gynn Square

Early C20th

Windswept pedestrians cross an open plain, while the large tram shelter is well-used. A four-wheeled cart awaits at the edge of the square. This is looking south from Gynn Square (called locally The Gynn) where there is now big roundabout at the southern end of Queens Promenade and the north end of The Promenade. The picture has been taken from roughly where the Gynn Square Toilets are now. The tram shelter has gone and the buildings have had dormers and other extensions added.
