From an elevated position near the Open Air Swimming Pool (near left) looking north. The background may have been drawn in, or blurred by the cleaning of the negative: the Tower, a cupola and cables on the flagpole. The promenade is packed: at least 4 trams, and numerous horse-drawn and motorised vehicles. A float advertising Moccasin Shoes suggests that a Carnival is imminent or just past. There was a Blackpool Carnival in 1923. The advert for the Grand Theatre reads 'Wild Oats' or 'Wild Cats'.
