Victoria Pier and Open Air Baths 1923

A fine view of the Victoria Pier (now South Pier) taken from an elevated position, looking north-west. A single-deck and double-deck tram are waiting (apparently at the terminus) outside the open-air swimming pool, the entrance to which does not seem complete. The pool was opened on 9 June 1923, closed in 1981 and demolished in 1983, to be replaced by the Sandcastle swimming complex.
