"Dear Brian and all. I am having a glorious time here at camp, the weather is glorious with sun and wind prevailing over rain. On Monday we climbed Scafell Pike, 3,250ft, the highest peak in England, we walked 15 miles and it took us 8 hours. The Eskdale scenery is wonderful, and there is a Roman Fort 2 miles up the road from the camp, which was a cohort station on the Roman Road joining Hadrians Wall and the Roman Port of Ravensglass. Be seeing you on Saturday or Sunday. Tudor My address is 4th W'ton ??? Wha House Family Boot, Cumberland ”
