"Dear Sarah, I am sure you aught to feel very thankful for getting so much correspondence from me. It took us 3 hrs 15 minutes and 25 secs to find out what that ????- Memorial, so don’t get cokky about it. I am looking forward to receive my renumeration for acting as singer in the choir. Brown has been full of righteous indignation this afternoon, goodness only knows what for. Indeed it has taken Mr Atkinson and I a great deal of trouble to sooth his feelings. I hope if you have been to Morecambe today you will have seen the areoplanes flying. I have invented something which I will show you, when you return to the bosom of your dear family. I haven’t the time to write any less. The family sends its compliments to its forsaken offspring”
