"Kara Amikins Ĉa vi ne receives mian …karton kaj leteron. Mi atendis longan tempon por la respondons. Si unu el niaj p.k. perdiĝis able la virinoj degarantaj la voȇdonojn detruis ĝin. Ĉu vi legu pri ili "Tin ĉa poŝtcarto montros alvi la "Hotelo monaĥeja kay Staci = domo de Furness.” Bonvolo respond frue, mi petas. La via sincere W.H. Boxall- The postcard translates as:- "Dear friends, didn’t you receive my postcard and letter. I was waiting for a long time. If any of your postcards got lost maybe the ladies who wanted to have the votes destroyed it. Did you read about them This postcard shows the Abbey Hotel and Railway Station of Furness. Please do respond soon, I beg you. Yours sincerely, W.H. Boxall” ”

| Date Posted: | The station at Furness Abbey was opened in 1846 and began receiving passengers from further afield in 1862. The station was closed by British Railways shortly after nationalisation, on 25 September 1950 and was subsequently demolished. No trace of the station now remains. | |
