"Dear E. Kirkby-in-Fss This is just to wish you a very happy birthday. Thanks ever so much for letter & snap of Nicholas. He looks bonny. The picture is the home of Uncle U-s nephew & Jim. Eric may remember him. They have a real old world home in the Keswick district. It was lovely seeing Norman the other day. I'll -unreadable- letter later. | Date Posted: | he traditional Lakeland farm in Watendlath is rented out by the National Trust and, as is the case with Lakeland farms owned by the Trust, the herd of Herdwick sheep are owned by the Trust and not the farmer, changing hands with each tenant.
