"10th April. It's super to be back here & we are enjoying the rest after all our visitors. Many thanks for your letter. It is jolly cold & we've had snow showers the tops are covered. So we are wearing 3 layers of sweaters. The Reids arrive this evening. One time you must come. R is going to climb Bowfell today but on his own as the weather is doubtful. Hope P makes good progress & you get away next weekend. Love from all here.”

View Southeast from the Ennerdale Bridge to Croasdale Road. The Anglers Hotel is the white building down on the shore. The skyline from the left is Bowness Knotts, Pillar Rock, Pillar, Windy Gap, Steeple, Scoat Fell and Haycock in mist, Caw Fell and Iron Crag. Angler’s Crag comes right down to the lake on the right. Two fine herdwick rams in the field see D590. Postcard title “Ennerdale” printed on the negative.
