| Date Posted: | The pavilion was built in the mid-1880s, a couple of years after Barrow Council had acquired Biggar Bank as a public recreation ground. It was used to provide refreshment facilities. Biggar Bank became a popular area for days out, with a bigger ferry service to Walney Island being introduced by the Furness Railway, and the subsequent building of Walney Bridge- and Biggar Bank being connected to Barrow's extensive tram network. The pavilion was demolished at least 50 years ago. | |
