Date Posted: The postmark seems to be Pooley Bridge. They appear to have journeyed from Darlington- to Pooley Bridge some 62 miles and taken 4 hours. Was it Darlington? Were the roads that rough in the 20s? The Swift was: 'The last vessel purchased by the Furness Railway was Britannia, in 1907. Built by Seaths in 1879 as a private yacht for Col. G. Ridehalgh of Fell Foot, she carried 122 passengers in extreme comfort.
