Date Posted: The present building on the site was built in the 1830s as a private house. It has had a number of uses, at times being a hotel, and being used as a convalescent home for Durham miners. Since 1976 it has been owned and occupied by various Buddhist Communities, and the Manjustri Kadampa Peace Temple has been constructed in the grounds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conishead_Priory https://manjushri.org/
