View north into Patterdale some 400 metres beyond the Kirkstone Pass Inn (GR NY 402086). In the foreground is the large pointed boulder like a spire that gives the name to the pass. On the right, the slope of St Raven’s Edge. In the centre, Brothers Water and Place Fell.
