View south from a point on the side of the hill above the village. Several houses cluster round the edge of the tarn. The tarn is foreshortened with the height. There is a plantation of conifers on the western side and the track that comes up from Rosthwaite in Borrowdale. Black Knott is beyond the fields in the distance.
