View north west across Coniston Water from the road on the east of the Lake. The rows of miners' terraces are clear in the village. The summits of Coniston Old Man, Brim Fell and Swirl How form the skyline left to right. On the far side of the lake, the steam yacht Gondola is moored at Waterhead Pier.
