Looking east from end of Railway Terrace at the ore sidings at Lindal. An 0-6-0 London and North-Western Railway engine at head of approximately 26 mixed wagons of iron ore facing towards Barrow. The locomotive crew lean out of their cab to look at the camera. Two people on adjacent track near rear of train. Chimney of Lowfield mine in the background. The engines were known as Cauliflowers as the painted crest on the engine looked like cauliflowers.
