Private Owner Wagon
Early 20th century
A seven-plank 'private owner' coal wagon belonging to the merchant Robert Balfour Ltd stands at the coal dock amid the extensive sidings off Hindpool Road near the end of Market Street, next to a four-plank wagon full of loose coal. Sacks of coal on the dock may be seen at the right end side while the roofs of the Wesleyan Methodist church and Market Hall are visible beyond, with the tower of the Town Hall beyond them. (Slightly narrower view of 7707)
