Ramsden Dock Station, Barrow Island, Barrow-in-Furness

Early twentieth century

Looking north-east, possibly from a boat at the edge of Barrow Island, close to Ramsden Dock Station. A Furness Railway 0-6-2 tank locomotive stands between the signal box and the station at the head of five or more compartment coaches, the first with two four-wheel bogies and the remainder two six-wheelers. The driver has dismounted and looks at the camera while a few passengers look out from the windows of their compartment door.
