Launch of the Estonian Submarines 'Lembit' and 'Kalev'

The dual-launch of the Estonian Navy submarines Lembit and Kalev at Vickers Armstrong Barrow on the 7th July 1936. In this view of the rostrum, with Estonian dignitaries and Vickers guests in attendance, the bottle has just smashed on the bow. The Lembit is still in existence today at the Estonian Maritme Museum in Tallinn. Kalev failed to return from patrol in October 1941 and has never been located.
