Stratheden Buccleuch Dock

Stratheden was launched on 10th June 1937 at Vickers Armstrong Barrow for P&O for its UK to Australia run. She was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and was extensively used as a troopship in both theatres of war. The photograph shows her being towed into the dock lock gate system at Barrow by two tugs. She was scrapped in 1969.
