Launch of Submarine Triton

Lady Elles launching HMS Trident – Sir Charles Craven is stood next to her. Launch rostrum for Triton with Admiralty and Vickers staff and guests in attendance, bottle about to hit the bow. Note the shipwrights under the rostrum. Triton, a T-Class submarine, was dual-launched with Undine on the 5th October 1937. She was lost on her fouth patrol in December 1940 with the loss of all hands.
