Orient Line Orcades

Orcades leaving Barrow on July 7th 1937, Walney Island in the background. The photo was probably taken from Roa Island. Orcades was used by the Orient line on the Australian and NZ route. Orcades was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and used as a troopship until sunk by U172 off South Africa in 1942.
