Fenella

Fenella, built by Vickers Armstrong, Barrow for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, was launched on 16th December 1936. Seen here at the Deep Water Berth (Walney Channel) adjacent to the, by then, disused Ramsden Dock Station. Requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two as a troopship and sunk during the Dunkirk evacuation on the 29th May 1940 whilst under the command of Captain W. Cubbon and crewed mainly by Manxmen.
