Incorrectly catalogued as "Launch of the Orontes”, this shows the launch of the Orcades from the Top Yard at Vickers; the ship having just taken to the water and not yet under tow. The Vickers house flag and Union Flag are flying on board for the launch. A rowing boat is to the left of the image, surprisingly close to the newly-launched vessel. Some workers seen on ship's deck
