Strathallan, built for P&O and seen here after her launch on 29th September 1937, was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and used as a troop and hospital ship until sunk by U172 in the Mediterranean during December 1942. In this image she is negotiating the entrance basin of the dock system in the care of tugs from Rae of Liverpool.
