Stratheden and Strathallan in Dock

Stratheden and Strathallan, launched 10th June 1937 and 29th Sep 1937 respectively, sit alongside each other in Buccleuch Dock under the 150 ton crane. Built for P&O, both were requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and used as troop and hospital ships. Strathallen was sunk by enemy action in 1942. Stratheden survived the war and worked in service until 1969 when she was scrapped..
