Stratheden leaves Barrow

Stratheden departing Barrow on a rainy day with a crowd of people in the foreground watching from the green on Roa Island. She was launched on the 10th March 1937 at Vickers Armstrong Barrow-in-Furness for P&O to operate its UK to Australia run. She was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and was extensively used as a troopship in both theatres of war.
