Orient Line Orsova

After World War Two, Orient Line like many other British and Commonwealth shipping companies, embarked on rebuilding their fleets due to their losses. Orsova - launched on14th May 1953 - was used mainly on the Australia and NZ route to transport thousands of people to new lives in Australia and NZ. (£10 Poms) Orsova with iconic "Welsh hat funnel” departing Barrow stern first with the aid of tugs; shipyard cranes and Lady of Mann ferry boat in view.
