Ship in the channel under assistance of tugs (Cartmel at stern) about to be turned and towed stern first into Ramsden Dock. Picture taken from south side of dock entrance. Passenger and cargo ship completed 1881 by Barrow Shipbuilding Company for Barrow Steam Ship Company (Later Anchor Line). Worked Glasgow - New York Route. November 1911 sold to Thos W Ward Ltd, and partly dismantled at Barrow, before being towed to Preston and finally demolished there in 1912. See 1244 and 1247
