HMS Princess Royal Detail

Close view of the port stern quarter of the ship setting off for sea trials with many workmen and boys aboard - all in flat caps. One of the four twin 13.5' gun mountings is visible. Launched Barrow 29th April 1911. Commissioned November 1912. A Lion class Battlecruiser with significantly improved speed, armament and armour than previous Indefatigable Class. Scrapped 1922 to meet terms of Washington Naval Treaty.
