Schooner Whinlatter & Convict ship Success
1908
The barque Whinlatter of Liverpool is laid up close to the high level bridge but the camera is pointed at the exhibition ship Success, which was promoted as a 130 year old convict ship. The iron barque Whinlatter arrived 22 Aug 1908 at Talacahuano, Chile. She was laid up during an ownership dispute. She sailed 24 May 1909 with Norwegian owners. Successfully arrived Barrow 28 Nov 1908 and was advertised as an exhibition until 22 Dec 1908. No record found of her leaving Barrow but she spent summer 1909 at Douglas, IOM.
