Australian Commonwealth Government liner afloat and being held by port side drag chains. Tug on left has tow line attached to bow. A few workers at the rail on the ship. Wooden cylinder structure in the water on the right. Rowing boats approaching to collect launch timber. As an armed merchantman she engaged Admiral Scheer off Iceland and was sunk while the convoy she was protecting largely escaped. Captain Fogerty Fegen was posthumously awarded Victoria Cross.
